We, my wife and I, signed on with Marc to sell our house in early May and after about a month of interior fix-up (see below) the house was effectively sold by mid-July, and for a very good price. What was most remarkable about the service Marc did for us is that he actually had the house sold, for a very good price, before it was ever listed on the MLS. This saved me a bundle of expenses that would have otherwise come along had the sale gone what I take is the more typical route of being "staged" with (expensive) rental furniture for a possibly extended period of time. Furthermore, Marc was particularly good at responding to adversity and setbacks with successful solutions. He did that for us more than once, to our financial benefit. Further, he was most helpful in advising us and setting us up with interior decorating services to fix up our 25+-year-old, and well-lived, home to make it "like new", which certainly was significant in achieving the very rapid sale. Marc gladly took care of a lot of coordination with the decorators for us as we had moved some 60 miles away shortly after signing on and couldn't do much in person. He made it happen. Marc Cowan = Wow! My wife and I call the DMV home and decided that continuing to rent was money down the drain. We finally made up our minds to purchase our first home. Buying a home is a daunting task. There were so many hoops to jump through that it seemed almost impossible. With Marc, though, we were able to rest assured that things would get done. While interviewing agents, we wanted someone who had the savvy and knowledge to navigate the waters of buying a home. Along with that, we needed a realtor with the endurance to push through the challenges first-time buyers can bring and the grit to fight in a very competitive market. We interviewed several agents and Marc was our one and only unanimous decision. From the time, we met during our initial interview, we knew this was someone we could count on and who would put our best interest first. He arrived early for our initial meeting, looking dapper as always, with plenty of information for first-time home buyers, and we could tell he really wanted to get to know our family and our needs for our first home. The questions he asked and the information he gathered proved invaluable in finding the right home for our family. Looking for homes can be exhilarating and gruesome at the same time. Marc made it easy by sharing updated information about homes as quickly as possible. He always promptly responded to queries, even late at night. My wife had him on speed dial and often had many questions. Marc had no problem with this at all and gladly maintained constant contact to keep us updated on any happenings. He also guided us through the tough breaks when homes were listed and went under contract the same day and explained the market trends in terms that made sense to us. When we finally found the home we wanted, he wasted no time in pulling comps, calling the agent to get as much information as possible, and walking us through the possible scenarios we would face in our offer. At the end of the day, if you do not have a realtor who can negotiate on your behalf with both professionalism and tenacity, you may see homes slipping through your fingers. Marc’s ability to gain insight into the seller allowed us to make a reasonable offer on the home that we wanted. He had us write a personal letter explaining why we wanted the home and encouraged us to include a picture of our family to go with the offer letter. Pure genius! We ended up having our offer accepted even though we were not the highest bidders. We know that if we’d had a different agent or tried to tackle this on our own, we would not be in the house we are in today. Marc managed to negotiate hard after the inspection was done and all major points of contention were taken care of by the seller and listing agent. Marc is extremely professional, dependable, attentive, patient, and overall a pleasure to work with. He is the complete package in an agent. Without a doubt, we felt he was representing us and was constantly looking out for our best interests. He also has extensive contacts with different vendors such as inspectors, appraisers, title companies, and other professionals that you’ll need to work with during the process of buying a home.
